About the team
Our Serious & Catastrophic Injury team specialises in high‑value, complex personal injury claims involving life‑changing injuries. These include traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations, severe orthopaedic trauma, chronic pain conditions, and fatal accident claims arising from road traffic accidents, employer’s liability and public liability.
You’ll join a highly experienced, collaborative and supportive team, working closely with senior lawyers, counsel, medical experts, case managers and rehabilitation providers. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your technical expertise within a specialist, nationally recognised catastrophic injury practice while delivering exceptional client care.
What you'll be doing
As a Solicitor/Associate, you’ll assist with and manage a caseload of catastrophic and complex injury claims, working collaboratively with senior team members. Your role will include:
- Managing and progressing high‑value personal injury claims from instruction through to resolution, including litigated matters in the High Court.
- Preparing detailed pleadings, witness statements, schedules of loss, instructions to experts and other key litigation documents.
- Coordinating and managing expert evidence across multiple disciplines.
- Developing effective litigation strategies, conducting negotiations and working towards timely and appropriate resolutions.
- Attending conferences with counsel and experts, and participating in settlement meetings and mediations.
- Delivering empathetic, proactive and high‑quality client care, supporting clients and families through rehabilitation pathways in line with the Rehabilitation Code.
- Working closely with senior lawyers on complex, high‑value matters and supporting or supervising non‑qualified team members where required.
What do I need?
We’re looking for someone who brings technical excellence, strong litigation skills, and a compassionate approach. Ideally, you will have:
- Qualified Solicitor status (0–6 years PQE, indicative).
- Experience handling high‑value personal injury cases (desirable).
- Strong knowledge of the Serious Injury Guide, Rehabilitation Code, and CPR.
- Excellent drafting, analytical and negotiation skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a complex caseload.
- Clear, confident communication skills.
