What
you’ll be doing
We are committed to nurturing talent and
rewarding high performance. You’ll work on quality and complex matters
predominantly for major insurers and their customers in the following areas:
- Counter-Fraud claims
- Personal Injury claims, including Complex and Catastrophic claims
- Motor Claims, including credit hire
- Employer’s and Public Liability claims
- Specialist claims, including construction claims, product liability claims
- Regulatory matters, including Fatal Accident Inquiries and Criminal Proceedings
- Cross-Border claims involving jurisdiction and choice of law issues

- You’ll handle a varied and engaging caseload of pre-litigation and litigated cases, through our case management system.
- Your role will involve providing first line support for client queries; drafting court documents; attending and conducting hearings and trials; taking client statements and reviewing medical records, together with additional responsibilities assigned by the Partnership as requested.
- You will work in full compliance with the firm’s data protection policy and all other policies and comply fully with the Law Society of Scotland’s requirements in relationship to completion of a traineeship, including completion of the necessary TCPD and updating the PEAT 2 record.
- You’ll also support Partners and other solicitors by reviewing evidence, drafting correspondence and pleadings, and ensuring our clients receive an exceptional service.

Eligibility
Criteria
- We welcome applications from candidates who meet the requirements for starting a Scottish traineeship. This typically includes completion of (or current progress towards) the LLB and the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice (PEAT 1).
- However, we also recognise that there are multiple pathways into the legal profession in Scotland, and we are open to considering equivalent or alternative routes, provided they meet the Law Society of Scotland’s criteria for entering a traineeship.
